Terms of Service
Second Summer is an independent editorial guide for people exploring retirement abroad. It isn’t financial, legal, tax, immigration, medical, insurance, or real-estate advice — it’s here to help you think clearly, not to make the decision for you. We don’t have paid partners yet; if we add them, paid links will be labeled.
1 · What Second Summer is
Second Summer offers editorial research, destination guides, a personalization quiz, checklists, and email updates about retiring abroad. Second Summer is owned and operated by New Latitudes LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company (30 N Gould St, Ste N, Sheridan, WY 82801 · +1 307 218 2195). These terms are an agreement between you and New Latitudes LLC — “we” and “Second Summer” refer to that company.
2 · Who may use the site
Second Summer is for adults 18 and older, for personal, lawful use. Please don’t scrape it, copy it at scale, resell it, overload it, or try to break it.
3 · Not professional advice
Nothing here is financial, investment, tax, legal, immigration, medical, healthcare, insurance, or real-estate advice, and we’re not your advisor, attorney, accountant, doctor, or broker. Rules, visas, taxes, healthcare, costs, and exchange rates change constantly — confirm anything important with a qualified professional in the relevant place before you act. See our Disclaimer for detail.
4 · The quiz
The quiz uses your answers and our editorial data to suggest places that may fit. It’s general guidance, not a promise that a place will be affordable, safe, medically right, or available to you — and even a good match deserves your own verification.
5 · Partners & affiliate links
We don’t currently have paid partners. In future we may earn a referral fee or commission from vetted providers — insurance, visa, relocation, or planning services — if you choose to use them, and any paid link or introduction will be labeled near the link. A partner can never buy a higher ranking or change your quiz results; a paid relationship is a financial interest, which is exactly why we’d disclose it.
6 · Email
If you give us your email, we may send your results, checklist, and the updates you asked for. Marketing emails will identify Second Summer honestly, carry a real postal address, and include a one-click unsubscribe we honor within ten business days.
7 · Intellectual property
The Second Summer name, writing, data, rankings, quiz, and design are ours. You’re welcome to read and share links; please don’t copy, republish, scrape, or train a competing database on our content without permission.
8 · Messages & feedback
If you send us a message or idea, you let us read, store, and act on it to improve Second Summer. Please don’t send confidential or highly sensitive information through the site.
9 · Third-party links & services
We link to official sources and providers we think are useful, but we don’t control them and can’t vouch for their content, pricing, or availability. Anything you do with a third party is between you and them.
10 · Disclaimers
The site is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows — including accuracy, completeness, fitness for a purpose, and availability. We can’t promise any destination, provider, cost estimate, or checklist item will fit your circumstances.
11 · Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Second Summer isn’t liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, lost profits or savings, relocation costs, or decisions you make based on the site. Our total liability for any claim is capped at the greater of $100 or the total amount you paid to us (Second Summer) in the 12 months before the claim; that doesn’t include amounts you pay any partner, provider, or other third party, which aren’t fees paid to us. This cap doesn’t limit anything the law won’t let us limit.
12 · Indemnity
You agree to cover the reasonable costs, including legal fees, of any third-party claim that results from your misuse of the site, your violation of these terms, or anything unlawful you submit. We’ll tell you promptly if such a claim arises.
13 · Changes, suspension & termination
We may update, pause, or discontinue any part of the site, and block access for misuse, security risk, or rule-breaking. If we change these terms we’ll update the date above; continued use means you accept the update.
14 · Which law applies
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming — where New Latitudes LLC is organized — without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The mandatory consumer-protection rights of the state where you live always apply. If a dispute comes up, we’ll try in good faith to resolve it with you by email first.
15 · General
If part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest stands. Not enforcing a term isn’t a waiver. You can’t assign these terms; we may assign them to an affiliate or successor. Questions? Email hello@secondsummerabroad.com.
