Disclaimer & Disclosure

Last updated 3 July 2026
The short version

Second Summer is an independent editorial guide, not licensed financial, legal, tax, immigration, medical, or insurance advice. We don’t have paid partners yet; if we add paid links or introductions, we’ll label them plainly near the link. A partner can never buy a higher ranking — but a paid referral is still a financial interest, and we’ll say so.

1 · Editorial guide, not professional advice

Everything on Second Summer is general information, research, and opinion to help you think clearly. It shouldn’t be relied on as advice for your specific finances, taxes, legal status, immigration path, medical needs, insurance, or a property purchase. We are not your fiduciary, accountant, lawyer, doctor, or immigration advisor.

2 · Healthcare & medical limits

We write about healthcare access, insurance, hospitals, and how medical systems compare as editorial topics. We don’t diagnose, recommend treatment, judge medical necessity, evaluate a policy for your specific health needs, or tell you whether a country is medically right for you. Confirm any medical or insurance decision with a qualified professional before you rely on it.

3 · How we make money — disclosure

Today, Second Summer has no paid affiliate or referral relationships. In future we may earn from paid guides, sponsorships, affiliate links, or referral fees from vetted providers — insurance, visa, relocation, or planning services. Whenever a link or introduction is paid, we’ll label it in plain English.

4 · What our paid labels say

When a paid link exists, we label it right next to the link, not just in the footer. Our standard label reads: “Paid referral: if you choose this provider, Second Summer may earn a fee. Rankings are never pay-to-rank.” For an introduction: “Partner introduction: if you choose to work with this provider, we may be paid. It doesn’t change your shortlist.”

5 · Rankings & conflicts

Our rankings are built for fit — budget, lifestyle, climate, healthcare, visa practicality, safety, and the trade-offs that matter to you. No one can pay to move a place up your list. We don’t sell property, and developers don’t pay us to promote inventory. A paid relationship is still a financial interest, so we disclose it.

6 · No guarantees of outcomes

Costs, visa rules, healthcare, taxes, safety, exchange rates, and local conditions change. We can’t guarantee any place will suit you, that you’ll qualify for residency, that care will be available, or that a cost estimate will match your life.

7 · Third-party information & links

We link to official sources and outside sites we think are useful. We don’t control them and can’t promise they’re complete, current, or available — check anything important with the official source or a qualified local professional.

8 · Endorsements & testimonials

We don’t publish fake testimonials, fabricated reviews, or endorsements from people who haven’t actually used what they’re describing. If anyone is ever paid, comped, or otherwise connected to us or a provider, we’ll disclose it clearly.

9 · Do your own due diligence

Before you move money, sign a lease, buy property or insurance, hire an advisor, or relocate, verify the details with the right professionals and official sources. Treat Second Summer as a starting point, not the final word.
